bonten → one day i'll fly away
I thought it was about time I posted again. Well, it's only been a little under a month, so I guess it's not that bad.

Besides, we had a whole English period designated to free-writing, so I wrote a little something during that time. It's not very good, but it's the first time I've written a one-shot/drabble/whatever.

Fandom: Inuyasha
Pairing: Inuyasha/Kikyou

Threads of Fate

Holding each other close, they remembered the sweet days of the past, where a life of love and happiness was just around the corner. They wanted to go back to those days.

Yet, they could not, for only a small thread of what they had once had was left. It had been destroyed, dwindled away by lies and hate and resentment until it was almost nothing. There were too many people in the way, too many people selfishly waiting for that single thread to snap.

But perhaps, they reasoned, if they embraced each other tightly enough, that thread would never break. No matter what, they would always have something to hang onto, even if it was small.

They gave everything they had to protect that one thread of fate, and because of that they will never let go.

I don't usually read Inu/Kik, but I really liked this and the idea of the thread. Very nice. I also liked how you said people were just waiting for them to let go, so true.

Nice little piece, I'd be interested in seeing what you cook up in the future ^__^.

Thank you, I'm glad you liked it. ^__^ It's the first Inuyasha/Kikyou fic I've written, so I'm glad it turned out alright.

At the moment, I'm working on a Kagura/Inuyasha, though I'm still working out the plot so it probably won't be ready for postage for a long time. x.x

Inuyasha/Kagura! *fangirls*. I can not wait to see it. Let me know when you post it, and if you need any help with it feel free to leave me a line.

I'm sure this feels perfectly stalkerish, but I just wanted to poke my head in and say I really liked this. XD Inuyasha/Kikyou fic is so hard to come by.

Not stalkerish at all. XD In fact, I've been stalking you for a while now. I really love your writings.

Mmm, Inuyasha/Kikyou is pretty hard to come by. It's a shame, they're a great couple, and can be quite fun to write.

Heh thanks.

More's the pity, really, because they are such a tragic, beautiful pairing, and they're canon, and there's scarcely anything for them out there.

Yes, that's so true. Well, even if there is a lack of Inu/Kik fics, the majority of them are good. (Well, at least most of the ones I've read are.)

I think that's because Inuyasha and Kikyou have a more subtle, dark plot, and they're not quite as blatantly fluffy as most bad writers would like. They have always had powerful emotions for each other, from enmity to love to hatred to love again, but they're not cutesy. They were friends before they were lovers, so they're closer (and more realistic) than Inuyasha and Kagome. Actually, most Inuyasha pairings have that quality to a certain extent, except InuKag.

Hmm, that's one thing I disagree with you on. While I'm not an Inuyasha/Kagome fan, I wouldn't say they weren't friends or that they're not close. Maybe for Inuyasha, there was no period of friendship. As far as I could tell, his feelings went from hatred, to an awkward kind of crush, to love. However, for Kagome, it was something like annoyance, to friendship, then to love.

As for Inuyasha and Kikyou...I wouldn't say they were friends first, nor were they enemies or lovers. They had quite the enigmatic relationship. That's why I love them.

Hm...
What it SHOULD have been for Kagome:
annoyance, love, being kicked out of the anime. Especially that horrible voice actor....yuck.
